ACE-031 research protein

ACE-031 is a protein therapy. Proteins in the body that act as switches regulate to muscle growth. The drug contains a recombinant fusion protein. It’s from binding part of a human actriib receptor to a part of a human antibody.

ACE-031 is an activin type 2 receptor, which is a myostatin inhibitor. It is a protein that binds to myostatin before it can attach to its receptor and suppress muscle growth.  Our bodies produce Myostatin that signal muscles to stop growing and developing. Thus, by inhibiting or blocking myostatin, muscles would be able to grow bigger and stronger.
