GDF-8

GDF-8, full name is growth differentiation factor 8. Another name is Myostatin which is a myocyte cytokine, a protein produced and released by muscle cells. Which acts on the autocrine function of muscle cells and inhibits their production: Growth and differentiation of muscle cells. In humans, it is encoded by the MSTN gene. Myostatin is a secreted growth differentiation factor that is a member of the TGF protein family.
