peptide bonds

A peptide bond is an amide type of covalent chemical bond,  linking two consecutive alpha-amino acids from C1 (carbon number one) of one alpha-amino acid and N2 (nitrogen number two) of another along a peptide or protein chain

Peptide bonds absorb A at A wavelength of 190 to 230nm (which makes them particularly vulnerable to UV radiation)

The formation of peptide bonds consumes energy. ATP drive it in organisms.  peptide bonds hold together to make chains of amino acids(sometimes by small amounts of isopeptide bonds)
